Welcome!

Welcome to my new recipe box!  Glad you came to peek.

Here is how this works.  The recipes are not in any order, so the best way to look at them is to go to the Recipe Box on the right column and click on the category that makes your tummy growl.

If there is something in your kitchen you just don't know what to do with, click on that label in the right column and every recipe that calls for that ingredient will pop up!  Enjoy!!

Home made Bread

From the kitchen of: Tina Murdock
Serves: 6 loaves
Rating: ***

6 cups very warm water
3 TBS yeast
3 TBS salt
1 cup honey or sugar
1 cup oil

Put in large bowl, but don't stir. Let sit for a few minutes until yeast starts to bubble.

Add 5 cups flour and mix really well. Then continue to add 1 cup of flour at a time until dough is soft, yet stays together. (It will be about 5 lbs of flour)

Let rise in a well oiled bowl for about 2 hours then punch down and divide into 6 loaves. Let rise again in bread pans for 30-50 minutes until dough is just higher than the pan.

Bake at 350 for 30-40 minutes.

Variations:
Add 2 cups cracked wheat or 9 grain and 2 cups of quick oats for a good cracked wheat bread.

Add half of the flour as whole wheat flour. Knead a little longer for less dry bread.

If all flour is white, roll one of the loaves out flat and spread butter and cinnamon, sugar on it then roll it up and place in pan.
